How tall is a lift kit?
The Heimbuilt kits we install add a standard 3 inches of lift. That's enough clearance for steep driveways, dips, and gravel roads without changing how your Silver Stream tows.
Can Silver Stream dents be repaired without replacing the panel?
Sometimes, yes. Smaller dents can be worked out with paintless dent repair. Larger damage or creased aluminum usually means panel replacement, and we'll tell you which you're looking at before any work starts.
How do you find leaks in an Silver Stream?
We pressurize the trailer and spray the exterior with a soap solution. Anywhere air escapes, bubbles form, and that's exactly where water gets in. It finds leaks you'd never spot by eye.
How do I know if my Silver Stream has floor rot?
Soft or spongy spots underfoot, a musty smell, or discoloration near walls and wheel wells are the usual signs. If you feel any give in the floor, have it looked at soon; rot spreads.
How do I know if my Silver Stream axles are worn out?
A trailer that sits low or uneven, a rough ride, and wear on the inner edge of your tires are the classic signs. Torsion axles degrade with age even in storage, so if yours are 15 to 20 years old, have them checked.
Can a rusted Silver Stream frame be saved?
Usually, yes. Surface rust and localized damage can be repaired and treated. We'll tell you honestly if a frame is beyond saving before you spend money on it.
When should I winterize my Silver Stream in Wisconsin?
Before the first hard freeze, typically by late October. One missed freeze can crack fittings and split lines, so earlier is safer than later.
What does an Silver Stream pre-purchase inspection cover?
Over 100 points, frame to roof: axles, brakes, floor condition, leaks, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and body condition. You get a written report of everything we find.
Can I replace just the awning fabric?
Usually, yes. If the arms and hardware are in good shape, new fabric is all you need. We inspect the mechanism while it's apart.
